Both nanchatte ramen and the pork kimchee was extremely good. No complains about the food. Would come back for the food. Service wise, the old aunties weren't the best with their patience. I misunderstood the aunty calling out our name for the table and said a second time "i'm here for xx table" and she gave me sort of an attitude when explaining what she meant. Didn't really like that part of the service. Other than that, they took the order quick, and have our food our quick. Not sure if it's because its close to their closing time for lunch or their service is just fast. Please know: 1:00-5:30pm they close for a small break.

I haven't been here in ages. So it was quite nice and nostalgic when I came here a few days ago. The place hasn't changed a bit, the casual hole-in-a-wall vibe like I remember. I remember it being great when I came here over 8 years ago. But for some reason, I wasn't terribly impressed this time. I had the Crab Omelet over Rice with Gravy, and was a bit disappointed to find it was imitation crab, and the taste was just OK. It could just be the dish I ordered... as my friend had a curry rice dish and it was delish! Other than the food, the service as very good. Even though it was on a Friday night, we didn't have to wait for long before being seated. I'll definite come back if I am in town the next time, and most definitely try something else.

Came here recently because I was craving omelet rice or omurice. I ended ordering the omelet rice with the curry and to start, I ordered the natto (again - just like my first visit here). I really do enjoy the natto and it's definitely growing on me overall. The way it's served with taro, mustard, and okra here gives it dimensions of flavor and texture. The omelet rice was great. It came with some miso soup and a side salad. The portion here is really large. I ended up taking leftovers and eating it for dinner that same night. Although I've only visited this place twice as of 4/24, I really love this place. Just a feeling of a family owned /operated, old timey Japanese cafe. Plenty of options to choose from and just very friendly people and from what I ordered so far I have loved everything. On my previous visit, I thought it was crazy since there was a long wait during a weekday. I've been working in the area for about 8 months and it was the only time I've had to sign up and wait for a table (not complaining, just an observation). On this past visit, while the restaurant was still busy, I was able to sit right away. I'm guessing on my previous visit, it was that odd time of the year during the holidays when students were off and people were in town so people were going to lunch here during a weekday.

Very small parking lot but lots of street parking. I had a short wait during lunch time on a weekend. The staff are super nice and food comes out very fast Nanchatte tonkatsu ramen: milky creamy and flavor broth. It's very comforting especially on a cold day. Ramen noodles are cooked just right. Deep fried stuffed soft shell crab: a nice appetizer. The outside is very crispy and it appears to be stuffed with imitation crab meat. Omelet rice with pork cutlet and curry sauce: the portion is very large. It was very delicious. Curry sauce is nice and sweet. The pork cutlet is nice and crispy, the meat is juicy. I would definitely get this again and it would be two meals. Definitely stop by when you're craving some comfort Japanese food! The menu is very large and there is a lot to try.
